Your home's central air conditioning comes as a matched package with an outdoor A/C unit and an indoor gas furnace. The outdoor unit, often called the condenser, sits outside and removes heat from your home by cooling the refrigerant. Inside your house, the gas furnace contains the blower fan with the cooling coil mounted on top of it. The furnace's blower pulls warm air from your rooms through return ducts, passes it over the cold coil to remove heat and humidity, and then blows the cool air back through your supply ducts into every room. Together they keep your whole house comfortable during the summer.
